How to Download PUBG Mobile Lite Before Official Launch

Player Unknown Battle Ground has been turning head since its release back in 2016 for PC. The game became super popular and Battle Royale genre quickly became the new fan favorite in the gaming industry. Other Franchises quickly followed the trend and released their own Battle Royale version some failing with some achieving mass popularity.

The mobile industry is the latest to cash on Battle Royale genre. PUBG released their mobile version earlier this year. The game became an instant hit and gained a mass player base. One reason for its popularity rise is due to the game being free(Microtransactions available) while its PC version needs an initial purchase. Back in May, it was revealed that 10 million people play PUBG mobile on a daily basis which is a huge number for Mobile Gaming and it seems like it will only go upwards from here.

The basic PUBG mobile requirements were Android 5.11 and IOS 9.0 with 2 GB of ram. (minimum) It's not too much of requirement as Smartphones today are easily capable of handling the game, however, the Chinese company which owns PUBG which is Tencent gaming has come up with a new version of PUBG Mobile. The version will be called PUBG Lite and the version will be aimed for People with low budget mobile. The game size is 30 MB compared to its original version which is 1.6 GB. The game is built on unreal engine 4 and requires lower RAM. The game will run on any version above 4.0.3.The game will have 40 members fighting to get chicken dinner instead of traditional 100 members and the size of maps is now smaller at 2×2 km.

Currently, the game has released only for Philipines. It is available for download via Playstore. If users cant download it from Playstore they can go the official website of Tencent gaming and download the game from there. The game is expected to launch in other countries including India after some field testing.

While the game has so far been available only in the Philippines, Tencent has confirmed that they are testing PUBG Mobile Lite and ‘optimizing it for Indian networks and devices’, but it is not known when the game will officially be available for eager Indian fans. However, if you can’t wait for the game to officially arrive in India, here’s how you can install the game on your budget smartphone.

Since the game has only been soft-launched in the Philippines, you won’t find the game listed on the Play Store. In order to install the game, follow these steps:

  1. Download the APKPure app
  2. Search for PUBG Mobile app and download the APK file
  3. Once downloaded, install the PUBG Mobile Lite APK on your smartphone

Before you can play the game, you need a VPN to connect to the Philippines server in order to enter a battle royale. (Am used X-VPN and had to buy a premium subscription to unlock the Philippines location in order to play PUBG Mobile Lite. However, you can download any other VPN which can set your location in the Philippines)
Once you’ve set your location, you can connect to the local server and start a match.
Important Note: It appears that PUBG Corp. has temporarily suspended the registration process of PUBG Mobile Lite for new accounts. However, registrations might be open again soon, so keep an eye on it.

Moreover, the average span of a match has been reduced to roughly 10 minutes, thanks to a lesser number of players and more close quarter combat on the smaller battlefield. Also, Arcade mode is missing and the option to tweak graphics settings is absent too.
